Human sexuality will always find some avenues for expression. The context provided by each community strongly influences the forms of expression which human sexuality finds through which to gain expression. Often the communal context inhibits open and honest expression of human sexual desires. Such a context often leads to dishonest covert expressions of human sexuality, which tend towards the violence of sexual discrimination, abuse and rape. In a community which has become addictive in its attitudes and behaviors, it is natural that sexuality becomes another focus for efforts to find and use addictive fixes. In such a context there are intimate connections between unhealthy sexuality and all the different manifestations of addictive attitudes and behaviors such as are explored by Charlotte Davis Kasal in her book "Women, Sex and Addiction". In a community which is compulsively preoccupied with rules of propriety, conformity, morality, ethics, legalism, and objectivity---the efforts to control human sexuality are bound to be frustrated; and members of the community are bound to be sexually frustrated and so prone to be ill-at-ease, dis-eased, sick, and be dis-connected from each other through alienative attempts to be in control of sexuality, and to control those attempts to be in control. The context which a community provides for the expressions of human sexuality depends greatly upon the attitudes, concepts, language, beliefs and rituals which are central in the ways which members of the community view their physical bodies, communications, expressions of physical affection, limitations, finitude, mistakes, ideals, values and imperfections. The less integrity there is in these contextual elements, the less integrity there is bound to be in the ways which human sexuality finds to express itself; and vice versa. In the absence of an integrative context for the expression of human sexuality there are persistent difficulties experienced with regard to: 1. Sex education 2. Pornography and standards of decency 3. Sexually transmitted diseases such as AIDS 4. Pre-marital sexuality and adolescent parents 5. Unwed mothers and children without fathers 6. Prostitution 7. Abortions 8. Rape and incest 9. Sexual discrimination 10. Birth control & population growth 11. Death control & associated costs 12. Child care & and stunted growth 13. Dishonesty about sexuality 14. Dishonesty in sexually related addictions 15. Disintegration of family life and values 16. Un-conventional sexual life-styles. Dishonesty about all these difficulties does not serve to provide a healthy context in which to resolve the difficulties and the conflicts attendant to them. All the difficulties and conflicts are intricately inter-related and it is essential to be honest about all the inter- connections that exist between them, and about the changes in our traditional attitudes values and ideals which must occur before we can cope with integrity.
