     %OBJECTIVE PARADIGM ULTIMATE REALITY REFLEXIVE 890528

     Jack  and  his  friends believe  that  through  their
efforts  as  guided by their objective paradigm  they  are
discovering  the  ultimate nature of the  universe.   They
focus    upon   ultimately   elementary    elements    and
relationships in objective ways upon which all objectively
qualified experts agree.

     Jack and his friends believe that their perception of
the  universe  is the most comprehensive  and  integrative
perception  of all.  It offers more  successful  objective
explanations  and the basis for more effective  prediction
and control than any other alternative.  In terms of their
objective  criteria,   their  way  is  clearly  the   most
successful way to deal with ultimate reality.

     Jack   and  his  friends  do  not  waste  their  time
meditating  upon  reflexive realities  and  relationships.
Experience has shown that such meditations do not lead  to
universal agreement or to the power to understand, predict
and  control as effectively as does the way  of  objective
manipulations.

     Jack and his friends are unaware of the ways in which
their  behavior  are undermining the possibility  of  them
surviving  with  integrity  as part  of  their  ecological
system   on   their   planet.    By   avoiding   reflexive
considerations  they have avoided an adequate awareness of
the ways in which their behaviors reflect back upon  their
own long term welfare.

     Jack  and  his  friends  are  so  addicted  to  their
paradigm  that  they  do  not  recognize  the  long   term
consequences  and  costs of their exclusive  addiction  to
their  paradigm.  They can not reflect upon themselves  as
knowers  and  be  honest about their  own  limitations  as
knowers,   manipulators,  understanders,  predictors,   or
controllers. They think that they could so reflect if they
chose to do so,  as the alcoholic thinks she/he could stop
drinking by their own will power.

     In  all  such cases the proof would be in the  doing;
and proof is exceedingly rarely offered, if ever.

     A  truly  integrative understanding of  the  universe
would include an integrative understanding of the roles of
the   knowers   in  reflexive  relationships.    Such   an
integrative  understanding  can not  flow  from  objective
research.   Those  who  would enjoy  a  truly  integrative
understanding  must be honest with themselves  and  others
and  transcend  the limitations of the objective  paradigm
which inhibits reflecting upon reflexive relationships  in
