In his Presence we seek both personal and communal integrity with regard to our: desires, ideals, values, fears, wants, needs, beliefs, goals, procedures, solutions, actions, attitudes, habits of the heart, bodies, sexuality and spirits. If we come into God's Presence with selfishness, there we discover our selfishness and learn to transcend our narrow perspective. If we come into God's Presence seeking power to disintegrate our enemy, there we discover that our integrity depends upon the integrity of our enemy. If we come into God's Presence seeking to have and control more than our neighbor does, there we discover that our integrity depends upon our transcending our desire to own and control. If we come into God's Presence seeking infinite manipulative knowledge, power, and understanding; there we discover that they are not the means to what we most deeply need. In God's Presence we may seek what we think we want and need, and discover that our conceptions of our needs are misguided by confused conceptions of our own natures. In God's Presence we do not always receive what we seek: we may learn to seek what we, in our depths, need. In God's Presence we may learn to seek both our personal and communal integrity in conversations about our desires, ideals, values, fears, wants, needs, beliefs, goals, procedures, solutions, actions, attitudes, habits of the heart, bodies, sexuality and spirits. In conversations in God's Presence we may be converted, turned around, and see clearly our patterns of behavior which involve addictive, codependent and collusive elements. When we see ourselves clearly in the Presence of God we become free to be our true selves, and free to stop trying to be untrue to the ground of our unique being. We become free to be who we are with integrity which reaches out into our community and promotes communal integrity which can be enjoyed by all; in the freedom to be vulnerable, in security with serenity, in freedom from defenses.
