     Members  of  a community may embody  personal  ideals
which  are prone to undermine communal integrity;  perhaps
by lacking coherence with integrative communal ideals.

     A  community  as a whole may embody  communal  ideals
which are prone to undermine personal integrity;   perhaps
by  lacking coherence with integrative personal ideals  of
many members of the community.

     The  lack  of coherence may pertain to the  essential
natures  of  persons  as individuals  and  communities  as
wholes---above and beyond the ideals which are embodied in
particular individuals and communities.

     The  integration of personal and communal  ideals  is
essential  to the survival of both personal  and  communal
integrity  as  interdependent  realities.     Indifference
toward   such   integration   is   likely   to   lead   to
disintegration  and  to confusion  about  the  process  of
disintegration;   and  so  to  impotence in  the  face  of
disintegration.

     Individuals and communities which are  disintegrating
are  likely to have tendencies to try to gain  control  of
the disintegrative processes; e.g.,  support campaigns for
"law  and order".   In the face of disintegration,  people
are likely to  experience  insecurity  and  take defensive
measures which heighten insecurity.

     The  processes of collusions and addictive  behaviors
conceal  from  participants the elements and  dynamics  of
disintegration.    Participants  can  not be  honest  with
themselves or each  other about how their perverted ideals
and values lead to disintegration.  They can not be honest
about the reality of the elements.  They can not be honest
about the relationships  among the elements.   They do not
know either what is  real or how reality relates to  them.
They are out of touch with  reality  and out of touch with
each other.  Since  they  are always on the defensive they
can not be intimate and know each other intimately.   They
are  not  free to be vulnerable in intimately knowing each
other and how they relate to the whole.   They can not see
how   their   perverted   ideals  and   values   lead   to
