We are under obligation to respect their discoveries and instructions to avoid such dangerous realities by always putting them from our minds, and by making our children be aware of the danger should our children slip and attend to them in any way. We must do so in ways which call the least attention to those dangerous realities. We must not point out the dangerous realities explicitly. We must conceal our effort to prevent them from receiving attention. It is best to discourage any attention to them. Children are very dependent upon their parents' attention and care. If we threaten to withhold such attention and care when our children threaten to pay attention to dangerous words, thoughts, images and ideas we will thereby help them to avoid that which is exceedingly dangerous to give attention to. We need only let our children know how threatened we feel by the possibility that they will play with the most dangerous words, thoughts, images and ideas; then their sense of our terror will guide them away from danger. They will not be threatened by the most dangerous words, thoughts, images and ideas if they are not familiar with them, and are not tempted to give them attention. It is our responsibility to protect our children from all danger; and especially from the most dangerous words, thoughts, images and ideas. We must repress any ideals which would lead our children to give consideration to the most dangerous words and ideals. We must make it evident to them how dangerous such ideals are by hinting at the alienative consequences of taking such ideals seriously; e.g., the ways in which people who take them seriously fall out of fellowship and into bad ways which are to be avoided at all cost. Some foolish people believe that in heaven there are no inhibitions to open and honest discussion of all words, thoughts, images, ideas and ideals. God is not so foolish as to fail to protect his children in heaven from such open and honest dialogue. (c) 2005 by Paul A.
