     The  teacher who is unaware of  student  perspectives
can not effectively  educe  students.    Education depends
critically  upon  the  educer  drawing  out  of   students
indications  of  not only how they perceive,  but how they
feel about how the perceive.   This requires a  degree  of
dedication  to  honesty and openness which has  often  not
been  present in the  classroom.    Such a  dedication  is
essential  to  good  education.   In its absence technical
