There is a need for people demonstrating integrative ways of behaving which are creative alternatives to compulsive ethical and/or moral behavior. Conformal systems of behavior tend to be alienative i character, undermining the integrity/character of those people affected by the conformal expectations---which are inconsistent with their own unique personal creative potentials which transcend conformity. Failures to conform to externally imposed expectations lead to punishments which constitute threats against yet others who might fail to conform, and so violate people's freedom to be true to themselves with integrity. Coercion and violence are rarely the most integrative alternatives in a situation, although they are often the most convenient and/or the least costly to the persons prone to chose them from among other more integrative alternatives. Ethical and moral expectations which demand conformity often lead to disintegrative consequences. Such consequences are the tragic fruits of ideals and values which were chosen with inadequate understanding of the integration and disintegration which flow from the chosen ideals and values. In the absence of an accurate understanding of the dynamics of integration/disintegration in personal, corporate and communal relationships; it is difficult to assess the wisdom of living according to any ideals and values regarded as of ultimate importance. Does it make sense to affirm as of ultimate importance any ideals and values, if those affirmed lead to personal and communal disintegration in tragic processes which are beyond human control?
