     Not  all  visions  provide insight  into  integrative
possibilities  and  alternatives.   Some visions  come  to
demented  and  perverted  people who are  the  victims  of
disintegrative  contexts and who  do  not  transcend their
contexts.   Other visions come to creative people who  are
trapped  within  disintegrative  contexts and there have a
vision  of how people might behave in alternative ways  to
transcend  their  contexts.   We need to attend to  second
order  visions which show  the way to tell the  difference
between  first  order  visions;  between those which point
toward   disintegration  and  those  which  point   toward
communities  characterized  by both personal and  communal
integrity.

     A second order vision entails the analysis of a  firs
order vision in the light of appropriate questions.   What
questions?   Does the vision  point toward the  resolution
of:   dissonance,  conflict, misunderstanding, alienation,
ignorance, resentment, anger, etc?   Does the vision point
toward:     honesty,   openness,   dialogue,    listening,
responsiveness,   accountability,  etc?   Does the  vision
point toward:   victory, success, winning, losing, defeat,
