Lived in Medellin, Colombia, South America while about 2 to about 7 years old; speaking Spanish with playmates
on the street, but English in the family.
Lived in sequence for short perids of time in Evanston, IL; Concordia, KA; Portland, OR; Klamath Falls, OR; Concordia, KA;
Parkville, MO; Carmi, IL; Geneseo IL during grades 6 through 12th.
Majored in Philosophy and Physics at Park College (now Park University) in Parkville, MO. with a significant
fraction of students who came from around the world. Earned AB degree --- in 1956.
Earned a Master's Degree in Physics at Washington, University in Saint Louis, MO --- in 1959; getting to know some
of the leading atomic scientists who started the atomic age of nuclear bombs.
Earned a Doctor's Degree in Physics at Tufts University in the Boston, MA area --- in 1964.
Taught college physics and astronomy at Coe College in Cedar Rapids, IA 1964 - 1999;
with a significant fraction of the students who came from around the world; and enjoyed
significant personal interactions with some of those students.
Traveled to Russia and China with about 30 American leaders in the physics teaching profession
in 1983.
Traveled to Brussels, Belgium in 1995 to present a paper at an international meeting of scientists
meeting under the title "Einstien Meets Magrite".
Became familiar with leaders in the Arabic community in Cedar Rapids, Iowa where there is the
longest-in-use-mosque in the Western Hemisphere.
A daughtor learned Arabic in the U.S.A., Jordan, and Yemen and has been working with the Arab American Institute
at their national office in Washington, D.C.
