     What  are the TOTAL COSTS of WAR;  not just the  most
evident costs of war?

     1.  The taxes paid by citizens in the  countries that
failed to resolve their conflicts in non-violent ways.

     2.  The time, energy, and citizens'  creativity which
is  spent  in destructive ways;  rather than  invested  in
constructive ways.

     3.  The  destruction of homes,  streets,   electrical
systems,  water systems, sewer systems, bridges, etc. that
are  destroyed  in  military efforts to  force  others  to
behave as domineering people say that they should behave.

     4.  The  destruction  of  patterns of  healthy  human
relationships among the citizens of the communities  which
are affected by the war; directly or indirectly.

     5.  The  loss of confidence in the  economic  systems
and  in investing financially in shared economic ventures;
i.e., the stock markets and constructive projects relating
to the infrastructures of the communities involved.

     6.  The   heightening of barriers to the  development
of  patterns  of mutual  understanding,   friendships  and
intimate relationships between and  among  the citizens of
the   countries   which  are  lead  into  war   by   their
domineering leaders.

     7.  The   promotion  of  respect  for  patterns   of:
secrecy, manipulation, coercion, deception and violence as
"honorable"   means to getting what is coveted ---  at the
expense of  others  who  are  not  well  known and/or  are
vulnerable.

     8.  The  promotion   of collusive  games  of   mutual
self  deception ---   promoted in order to facilitate  the
efforts to  "win"    against  the "enemy"   who  is   also
promoting  collusive  games  of mutual self  deception  in
order to "win" in the mutually supported "no-win" effort.

     9.  The  creation  of conditions  which  promote  the
spread  of  physiological  and  mental  diseases  due   to
inadequate:    sanitation,   food,   housing,    clothing,
education, sanctuaries, health care, etc.

    10.  The  promotion  of human  tendencies  to  project
blame outward upon others who have been labeled as:  evil,
