     How  can we prevent people from becoming dependent in
ways which are not good for the them ---  when they do not
know  what is good for them,  and will not let  us  inform
them?    How  can we refine  such  a  question  so  as  to
ourselves  avoid misleading  ourselves in our  efforts  to
help people who seem to  us --- to not know  how  to  help
themselves?    How  can  we  avoid  being  domineering  in
arrogant/self-righteous efforts  to make other  people  be
like  us?    How can we overcome their unappreciative  and
lazy  habits which divert their attention from our  timely
and  prudent  suggestions?   Perhaps we need to spend more
time in mediation and in dialogue with others like us,  so
that  we  can together figure out how to help others  with
the  self-assurance which will elicit their respect.    We
can  do  it for them if we all agree on how to do  it  for
