Only when we learn new perspectives, attitudes and let go of our tendencies to copy domineering behaviors --- can we transcend our tendencies to be dominated by our own rebellious efforts to dominant other people. We cannot escape from domination by becoming domineering. We cannot reduce violence by using violence to try to dominate violent people. We cannot coerce people to stop being coercive. Rebellions tends to be coercive, violent and domineering. What can we do to be healthy and whole? To transcend and subvert rebellions, coercion, violence and domination --- we need in some way to understand how futile rebellions, coercion, violence and domineering-ways are. They do not deliver the expected and/or promised net-benefits. Pouring gasoline on a fire will not put out a fire. Larger and more cans of gasoline poured on the fire will not help put it out! To gain some insights into helpful new perspectives, attitudes and ways of letting go our of our tendencies to copy domineering behaviors --- study Walter Wink's concise book "The Powers that Be". It points to some new ways of transcending coercion, violence and domination --- used in liberating over half the people on earth during the late 1980's. Those liberations were NOT well reported in the news media that thinks that the peaceful resolution of conflicts is not news-worthy. (c) 2005 by Paul A.
