"Lawyers" who place their ultimate confidence and concern in the articulation of and honoring of Law --- see anyone who "hits bottom" and lets go of Law's ultimate concerns --- as traitors to the worship of Law, as being untrustworthy, and so as not worthy of inclusion in communities of open and honest dialogue. Yielding to the promptings of Love is unthinkable. Such yielding must not be acknowledged, articulated, talked about, respected, honored, or tolerated; for such yielding undermines all hopes for control, order and dominance --- over the forces of evil. 2. "Lovers" who place their ultimate confidence and interest in the modeling the graceful ways of Love --- see anyone who "hits bottom" and lets go of Love's ultimate concerns --- as falling out of Grace and being alienated from God and their neighbors. Such yielding needs to be acknowledged, articulated, talked about, recognized, described, and forgiven; for such yielding is often the consequence of honest efforts to enjoy balance and mutuality in healthy/integrative relationships and communities.
