     Human  patterns of coercion,  violence,   constraint,
resistance,  judgment,  punishment,  revolution,  counter-
revolution  -  -  -  entail  the  concentration of energy,
anger,  rage which periodically EXPLODE in ways which  are
both  CATASTROPHIC and CHAOTIC in the sense of CATASTROPHE
THEORY and CHAOS THEORY in modern branches of science.

     EXPLOSIONS  occur  when  concentrated  energy,  rage,
resentment,  anger,  desires,  and their like are suddenly
released.

     CATASTROPHIC changes  occur when  physical  or  human
systems  approach boundaries between stable  and  unstable
configurations    in   a   phase-space   of    alternative
possibilities  which  range smoothly between highly stable
and highly unstable configurations.

     CHAOTIC  processes occur when processes are cyclic in
ways  which  are  similar  but  not  identical---with  the
possibilities  of small  differences in conditions through
one  cycle  leading eventually  to  great  differences  in
eventual outcomes.

     In conflicts  between opposing paradigms and  peoples
they   work   in  terms  of  primarily   two   alternative
possibilities:    one  side dominates,  or the other  side
dominates.    They act in ways which  concentrate  energy,
rage,   resentment,   anger,   desires and their  like  on
opposing   sides  on  alternate  halves  of   the   cyclic
processes.   The cycles are never different because during
each cycle  the past  history  and  memories  are slightly
different.   Small changes in one cycle can lead to  large
differences in cycles far in the future.

     In  conflicts between opposing paradigms  and  people
the   conditions  of  concentration  of  energy  lead   to
explosions in  cyclic ways which are naturally chaotic and
hard to understand because:

     1.  The  participants   in  the   chaotic,    cyclic,
catastrophic processes are confused by them and too  close
to  them to see them clearly in unbiased ways.   They  are
confusing each other in reflexive ways so that objectivity
about the processes is impossible.

     2.  The  bystanders  who  are  not  embroiled  in the
chaotic,   cyclic and catastrophic processes are not  well
informed  about the  participants or the processes because
the  essence of the processes includes  reflexive  aspects
which  vanish  from  view  when  they  are  approached  in
exclusively objective ways.

     Unless  participants and bystanders who are  involved
in conflicts transcend the  above  limitations  upon their
creativity---they cannot enjoy either personal or communal
integrity.    It is essential that they seek both personal
and communal integrity  through  cooperative efforts which
are  informed by open and  honest  dialogue  about   their
experiences, perceptions,  attitudes, thoughts,  feelings,
emotions, desires,  etc.   Such is exceedingly unlikely to
occur---so  long as  manipulative attitudes prevail,   and
dishonesty/deception are regarded as  worthy of respect as
tools to be used in seeking to achieve desired outcomes in
