Rather than reflecting openly and honestly upon reflexive relationships compulsively objective people may: 1. Engage in rationalization which entails dishonesty---in an effort to make their reflexive behavior appear "reasonable" or "logical". 2. Repress memories of their reflexive behaviors--- in an effort to make it appear that they have not violated their commitment to constant objectivity. 3. Blame other people for the unacceptable reflexive behaviors. The other people may be viewed evil, more powerful, unreasonable, deceptive, etc. In any case blame is projected away from self. 4. Engage in self-criticism and self-judgementalism in an effort to compensate for the unacceptable reflexive behaviors; to even up the "score." 5. Make a nose-dive in self-esteem; blaming self without restraint and without any attempt at self- justification. Such attempts to guide all aspects of life in terms of compulsive concerns with objectivity usually end up generating many tragic consequences which cannot be understood or avoided using the objective paradigm as a guide. In contrast to compulsively objective people---other more integrative people reflect openly and honestly upon their reflexive behaviors, name them, describe them, and talk about them with intimate associates. They make an effort to develop an integrated understanding of themselves, each other, their communities; and their defining ideals, values, visions, goals, dreams, and hopes. (c) 2005 by Paul A.
