     Often  people feel that they have a duty to know more
than they actually know; to be able to do what they cannot
do;   to have competencies which they do not have.    Such
people  are  prone to pretend:  to know when they  do  not
know;   to  be able to do what they cannot  do;   to  have
competencies which they do not have.   Their sense of duty
leads  them to be:  misleading,  deceptive,  dishonest and
arrogant---because they seek to manipulate other  people's
perceptions of them and respect for  them.    Such dutiful
people   are  compulsively preoccupied  with  appearances.
They are  not interested in honestly describing realities,
or in otherwise honestly sharing their experiences.

     Pretentious  knowledge  and  competence  are disinte-
grative.   Humility is integrative.   Beware of people who
feel  that  they  have  a duty:  to know  more  than  they
actually know; to be able to do what they cannot do; or to
have competencies which they do not have.  They are likely
to mislead you.   Their behaviors are not to be trusted or
