Our personal knowledge does not pertain to and is not the fruit of any pattern of anticipations and/or expectations, or conformity to any pattern of anticipations and/or expectations. We do not come to know ourselves or each other through the exercise of any knowledge related to predictions, manipulations or control. We do not come to know ourselves or each other by being involved in proper pattern of anticipations and/or expectations, or any form of conformity to any pattern of anticipations and/or expectations. We do not know ourselves or each other through success or achievements pertaining to anticipations, expectations or conformity. We know ourselves and each other by accepting God's gift that we are all created one in the Holy Spirit and that we find good only in the Mysterious Presence; but find evil when we absent ourselves from the Mysterious Presence and wander in ignorance in the darkness which we find far from the light of the truths which are present when we seek to know ourselves and each other in the Mysterious Presence in the Present Eternal Now of our I- Thou intimate relationships. When we seek to be truly ourselves and are true to ourselves and to each other, we come to know ourselves and each other openly and honestly as we acknowledge that we are conceived to be one in the Holy Spirit and that we find good only in the Mysterious Presence. We create alienative (evil) relationships when we absent ourselves from the Mysterious Presence of non- judgmental non-condemning Truth and Love; when we seek to be in control and to fulfill all of our expectations, anticipations and predictions thorough knowledge which pertains to our power to conceive, create and perceive ourselves in control of whatever we choose. Such power is alienative and leads us to conceive God as a devilish and weak perversion of the True God of Love, Power and Justice. In our dishonest confusion we endow our devilish conceptions and creations with great powers which we fear and make the focus of our ultimate concerns. Thus we lead lives dominated by fear. We attempt to be in control through countless defensive measures, measurements, comparisons, perceptions of imperfections, judgments, rejections, condemnations, and excommunications. In our alienation we do not know ourselves or each other honestly, openly, or with the power to resolve the conflicts which we have created. We cannot reconcile our conflicts because we do not re-member that we are all members of one and other in God's Mysterious Presence. We are not re-known because we do not re-member and know each other as as members one of another and as One in the Holy Spirit. We are not re-conciled because we do not seek reconciliation through re-union following our ex-com- union. (c) 2005 by Paul A. Smith in (On Being Yourself, Whole and Healthy) ==========================================================
