Controlling some aspects of the circumstances experienced by another person/group will not control what lessons the other person/group will learn from such circumstances. What lessons are learned in a particular set of circumstances depends greatly upon the person/group's: 1. Hereditary characteristics, 2. History, 3. Traditional assumptions, beliefs, attitudes, 4. Culture and language, 5. Knowledge base, 6. Prejudices, 7. Views of those in control of the circumstances. If there is an adversarial relationship between the teacher and the person/group who is to be taught, then the teacher is not at all likely to be well informed about all the above factors which play key roles in determining what the other person/group will learn from situations which the teacher tries to control. If there is an adversarial relationship between the teacher and the person/group who is to be taught, then to the extent that the latter knows what the teacher wants the learned lesson to be, because of natural rebellion at being manipulated, that lesson is not at all likely to be learned. These considerations are relevant in families, schools, colleges, universities, and inter-national relationships wherever people try to control each other and try to teach each lesson through unilateral manipulations in the absence of open and honest intimate relationships.
