Powerful people? Impressive people? Highly respected people? Such people a disintegative ideals and values. If we do not know h ow to recognize the difference between integrative and disintegrative ideals and values; then we cannot know how to tell the difference between people whom it is safe to trust and those whom it is not safe to trust. We should not favor powerful, impressive and highly respected people with our trust just because of those qualities; or because we want to court their favor with our trust. Such trust is very risky and often dangerous. To be able to prudently distinguish between people who it is safe to trust and those whom it is not trust, we need to work on becoming clear on the ways in which integrative and disintegrative values/ideals lead to be trustworthy or untrustworthy. Sincerity is not a trustworthiness in and of itself; especially when are trapped in collusions. Good intentions are not a trustworthy sign of a person being trustworthy. need to look carefully to see what ideals/values are guiding a person's behavior; and to understand whether those ideals/values are prone to promote integrative and/or disintegrative processes in us and in our communities.
