There are as many majorities in a community as there are issues upon which there is majority consensus. The participants in such majority groups overlap in a variety of ways. The overlapping groups need to cooperate in a variety of ways to protect the right of members of the minorities so as to protect their personal integrity. In the absence of majority cooperation to protect the rights of members of minorities so as to protect their personal integrity, the personal integrity of the most creative members of the total community will be threatened and undermined. Since personal integrity and communal integrity are essentially interconnected (by virtue of their essences) for each majority to protect its own communal integrity, it must work to protect the rights of all members to protect their own personal integrity. It is dangerous for a majority to directly try to protect the personal integrity of the minority members of the community; for the majority will try to do so in terms of the ideals and values of the majority, not in terms of those of the minority. It is essential that the majorities work rather to protect the rights of minorities to protect their own personal and communal integrity. Whenever the majority groups of a community fail to work to protect the rights of all minorities to in turn work to protect their own personal and communal rights, then the consequence is the disintegration of the communal integrity of all members of the community. It is often difficult to distinguish between the rights of members of minorities to work to protect their own rights, and the desires and apparent needs of the members of minorities to get for themselves other benefits which are not essential to their personal and communal integrity. This difficulty is especially present in communities dominated by addictions, codependence and collusive games of mutual self deception which confuse all the essential issues and truths. In such a community the creative members of minorities will honestly confront the dishonesty of the members of the collusive majorities, and it is natural that the majorities will operate in terms of taboos which will inhibit the rights of minorities to work to protect their own personal and communal integrity by exercising essential communication rights. The rights of all members of communities to communicate openly and honestly their perceptions, feelings, opinions, desires, fears, hopes, aspirations, etc. are essential to the personal and communal integrity of the community. Any failure on the part of the majorities of a community to protect the rights of minorities to work to protect their own communication rights, is a threat to the personal and communal integrity of all members of the total community; and should be treated as such by all members of the community, else disintegration will set in. It is particularly important that there be strong protection of citizen's rights to honestly confront and expose the dishonesty of powerful members of addictive, codependent and collusive games of mutual self deception. Such exposure is sure to be experienced as painful, embarrassing, and unwelcome by participants in such dishonesty. The participants will find it difficult to distinguish between integrative honesty and disintegrative violence. Transcending such difficulty will be all the more important if the participants are powerful members of the community who are greatly respected in spite of their dishonesty. It is relatively easy to say that it is essential to protect citizen's rights to honestly confront and expose the dishonesty of powerful members of addictive, codependent and collusive games of mutual self deception. However, it is certain to be very difficult to make clear just how such protection is to be implemented, and how adequate distinctions are to be made between integrative honesty, which should be protected and encouraged on the one hand; and on the other hand disintegrative violence, which should be confronted and dealt with honestly and charitably to minimize the damage it may occasion.
