In the absence of such a communal context personal acceptance offers little integrative power and little promise of meaningful relationships. In the absence of such a communal context the power of personal acceptance is spent upon dealing with the absence of the integrative communal context, rather than in more positive creative relationships. A communal context for creative relationships is not just a numerical accumulation of individual accomplishments or contributions. Its essence is not in more of any thing which can be counted in the sense of numbering or quantitative measurement. A communal context for creative relationships is defined in a qualitative sense; it entails a web of quality relationships whose essence resides in the honesty and quality of the languages, conversations and conversions which construct the web which sustains the participants in the web. When a need which is entailed in a lack or absence is met, there is then more than there was in the absence, but the essence of the filling of the need is not measured by any numerical process. If that essence is regarded as numerical, then when trying to meet the need the efforts to meet the need are likely to be misdirected. A community which seeks to create a communal context for creative relationships will fail if it seeks to acquire more of some thing or technology which can be enumerated. It needs to develop a communal context in which integrative intimate personal relationships are affirmed in meaningful ways by the community as a whole. In such holistic behavior the community will become integrated in a meaningful way. (c) 2005 by Paul A.
