In grammar reflexive verbs refer to words used to indicate action in which the actor's action reflects back upon the actor. In reflection a person reflects upon their own situation, problem, predicament, opportunity, life, reflections, etc. In prayer and meditation a person engages in reflexive behavior which is not objective. In objective behavior a person attempts to avoid being reflexive; and attempts to be unaware of their own reflexive behaviors and realities even when they do exist. Some problems which appear to be no more than technical problems, in reality contain reflexive elements. The highway which is overcrowded seems to be a technical problem for which a solution is building a wider highway. Building a wider highway attracts additional human activities which recognized the highway and perpetuates what appears to be just a technical problem. Many human diseases seem to present people with technical problems: how to cure the diseases and avoid their debilitating effects. Medical cures for all such diseases present people with the problems of dealing with other diseases which rarely before presented themselves as problematic. Such cures also present problems of increasing costs of medical care. Successful cures also present the human community with the predicaments of over- population. Scientific research as the means for overcoming ignorance presents the reflexive problem of dealing with the exponential growth of and management of information and the challenge of dealing with informational garbage. Computer information management systems facilitate the management of information, but do not provide a non- reflexive solution to the problem of making value judgments and dealing with informational garbage. Moral, ethical and legal codes as solutions to questions of human propriety present the reflexive dilemma of how to deal with people who fail to conform to what the codes call for as regards human decisions and actions. How are such codes to deal with the questions of how to respond to the situations created by the creation of the codes, and the failures of humans to fulfill the expectations generated by the refinements of the codes? What code is to specify how to deal with the failures of codes to solve the "problem"? Technology deals with non-reflexive problems. Technology provides solutions to questions of how to achieve certain goals without concern for the problems generated by the achievement of or failure to perfectly achieve those goals. Technology does not provide guidance that clearly tells what should be done in response to the new situations created by the generation of technical solutions to technical problems, and failures to fulfill the possibilities of those solutions.
