For a liberal arts college to liberate its  students
through education the college must engage the students  in
a process of integration of intellect,   reason,   belief,
faith,  emotion,  passion, being, will and spirit;   along
with other essentials to personal and communal integrity.

Any  exclusive  focus  upon   any  one  factor which
is   essential  to  personal  and communal integrity leads
to   disintegration.   No  one essential to  personal  and
communal integrity is of such  a  character  as to justify
focusing   upon   it   to    the  exclusion    of    other
essentials to personal and  communal integrity. Balance is
essential.

Integrity properly understood makes reference to all
that is essential to personal and communal integrity.

Integrity is not promoted by exclusive consideration
of any important fact, reality, belief, law or whatever.

Integrity is not promoted by any form of exclusivity
on the part of any nation,  profession, religion, science,
business, or other human enterprise.

Balance  is essential to both personal and  communal
